Threading

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal which originated in parts of India,the Middle and Far East, and is now gaining popularity in Western countries. Threading is a hair removal technique that uses 100% Organic Cotton Thread. The cotton thread is twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin entwining the hairs in the thread, which are then lifted quickly from the follicle. It is more precise than waxing and allows for better lines.

Waxing

Our waxing services are wildly popular in the RTP community because of our caring and professional approach and we only use the highest quality hard and soft waxes. No Double Dipping!! We use hard wax to make sure our guests receive the most effective and gentle waxing experience in the sensitive areas. All of our waxes are formulated for sensitive and normal skin. The temperatures of our waxes are a little above body temperature, which make burning the skin impossible at Lotus Salon & Spa in Morrisville. Hairs should be about ¼ of an inch long (approximately the length of a grain of rice). Waxing usually lasts 4-6 weeks. If it is your first time getting wax, it most likely will last about 3-4 weeks.

Your health is of the utmost importance to us. We employ the strictest standards for hygiene and we NEVER double dip the disposable spatulas into the wax pots. Waxing is a method of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for two to eight weeks, although some people will start to see re-growth in only a week. Before Wax

  • • Exfoliate the skin before getting your waxing done.
  • • Please let us know if you have any difficulties with waxing done before, especially for Sensitive skins.
  • • If you have been shaving ,you must let it Grow hair to around a quarter-inch long.
  • • Stop using products containing glycolic, salicylic acids on the area you are trying to get waxed before scheduling your waxing appointment.
  • • Stop using Accutane for Couple of months before getting wax done.
  • • If you have had a chemical peel ,should wait for couple of weeks before getting the wax done.
  • • Do not apply self tanners,deodorants and any other creams/lotions Prior to your waxing appointment.

After Wax Care

  • • Avoid tight clothing and keep the area clean.
  • • Avoid touching the waxed skin .Please apply a cold compress to soothen the skin if you experience any irritation .
  • • Post-waxing irritation and redness happens, especially if you have sensitive skin, and it’s quite normal in case of sensitive skin.
  • • No need to freak if you see red bumps on the area for a day or so afterwards. That’s just inflammation of your hair follicles from where the hair has been pulled out at the root.
  • • Do not expose the skin to the sun, hot tubs for atleast 48 hours after your waxing treatment.Freshly waxed skin are sensitive and vulnerable.
